Delaware County Sheriff's Office is now using GovPayNet (ALL PAID)
GovPayNet has been processing electronic payments of credit and debit cards on behalf of government entities for over 20 years. Established by a former Sheriff in 1997 to assist law enforcement agencies in handling cash bail payments by credit card, they now offer a wide variety of payments.

The Sheriff's Office is responsible in enforcing state, county and city ordinances within the county. Duties of the office include but are not limited to the following: Reports of, and investigation of, thefts,
vandalisms, assaults, illegal drug activity, reported child and/or domestic abuse, accidents & all other
criminal allegations. Deputies are also responsible for the enforcement of traffic laws.
Patrol Division
The Sheriff and Deputies are the police force for residents of the unincorporated areas
of the county and provide contracted law enforcement for the cities of Delaware County, Iowa.
The Sheriff's Office handles all routine and emergency calls for these areas, and regularly patrols all areas of the county. They also provide security at special events in the county.
The Sheriff oversees a Jail that has the capacity to house 26 inmates.
They also maintain all the records for individuals that are booked into the jail.

FOR AN APPOINTMENT
The Sheriff is responsible to execute and serve writs and other legal process documents including Sheriff Sales, subpoenas, and garnishments.This division issues permits to acquire and permits to carry.
The Sheriff's Office is also required to carry out duties related with civil process including but not limited to:
Original notices and petitions, garnishments, orders, sheriff sales, room and board reimbursements, evictions, protective orders and restraining orders, involuntary commitment of persons with mental illness and/or substance abuse, duties related to condemnation of private property and the execution and return all writs and other legal processes issued by lawful authority. The Sheriff’s Office provides 24 hour dispatching of Law Enforcement, Fire and EMS Services within Delaware County.
