Water and Sanitation Department is responsible for the permitting of, and the inspection of, private septic systems in the Delaware County. 

• Delaware County adopted and enforces Chapter 69 of the Iowa D.N.R.
• Water & Sanitation is responsible for private well water testing & well permits. 
• This service is provided by grant money obtained from the Iowa D.N.R.
